In case you missed it, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly spent the day in Yuma where he visited Yepez Automotive Repair in Somerton to hear about running a small business and how rising costs driven by President Trump's tariffs on imported auto parts are impacting them. While in Yuma, Kelly visited produce fields with farmers and farmworkers during harvest, met with leadership at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma, and sat down with local agriculture leaders to discuss water, labor, and how he can continue delivering results for the region.

At Yepez Automotive Repair, a family-owned business that has served Yuma for fifty years, Kelly toured the shop and spoke with the owner about how higher costs for auto parts are affecting their operations. Tariffs on imported goods are driving up the cost of auto parts, forcing repair shops to make tough choices.

Earlier in the day, Kelly visited MCAS Yuma, where he met with leadership to discuss the base's priorities and ongoing missions. He also toured Marine Operational Test & Evaluation Squadron 1 (VMX-1) and received updates on the installation's critical role in supporting military readiness. Kelly thanked MCAS Yuma leadership and staff for their service and reaffirmed his commitment on the Senate Armed Services Committee to supporting Arizona's military installations and the service members and families who rely on them.

While in Yuma, Kelly also met with local agriculture leaders to provide an update on his work in Washington related to agriculture, labor, water, and conservation efforts. He heard directly from growers and community leaders about the challenges they are facing and reiterated his commitment to advocating for Arizona's farmers and protecting the state's long-term water security.
