'Winds of Change' concert coming to Stutsman County Courthouse State Historic Site

July 22, 2025

JAMESTOWN, N.D. - The public is invited to attend "Winds of Change," a free family-friendly concert set for noon on Thursday, Aug. 7, at the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse State Historic Site, Jamestown.

The New York Kammermusiker is returning to North Dakota for the group's 18th annual concert series. They will perform compositions celebrating Jamestown's own Peggy Lee, and Renaissance, Baroque, and contemporary classical music as part of their tour through North Dakota and Minnesota. Formed in 1969 by North Dakota native Ilonna Pederson, this non-profit organization seeks to reintroduce the instruments and music of the double reed ensemble to modern audiences.

Built in 1883, the historic Stutsman County Courthouse is home to a unique hands-on exhibit about civics and local government. It is North Dakota's oldest surviving courthouse and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

For more information, contact Site Supervisor Kyle Nelson, [email protected] or 701.328.1883. Located at 504 Third Ave. SE, Jamestown, the Stutsman County Courthouse is a state historic site managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota.
