Washington, DC -Rep. Derek Tran voted in favor of two Congressional Resolutions in response to an uptick in acts of antisemitic violence. H.Res.488and H.Res.481, which were both agreed to in the House, respectively denounce the recent antisemitic terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado, and condemn the broader rise in ideologically-motivated antisemitism and political violence.
"The blatant antisemitism we saw in last week's terrorist attack in Boulder, and in too many recent instances, is abhorrent and disturbing. I was proud to stand with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to unequivocally condemn all acts of violence against the Jewish community," said Rep. Derek Tran. "The antisemitism that persists in our country divides us and threatens the lives of our friends and neighbors. I won't stand for that. While I am gravely concerned about certain practices of organizations like ICE, including preventing lawmakers from conducting oversight of detention facilities, I stand firmly with our law enforcement partners who play a critical role in preventing and responding to the heinous crimes like we saw in Boulder."
