Secretary of State Diego Morales Delivers Keynote Address at Naturalization Ceremony in Indiana Statehouse

INDIANAPOLIS- (November 13, 2025) - Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales served as the keynote speaker today at a naturalization ceremony held inside the Indiana Statehouse, where approximately 100 individuals officially became citizens of the United States.

For Secretary Morales, the event held special meaning - as a naturalized citizen himself, he shared a deeply personal message of gratitude and encouragement with the state's newest Americans.

"It is an honor to serve as your 63rd Secretary of State of Indiana and to celebrate this milestone with you. As a fellow naturalized citizen, I understand the significance of this achievement. Like many of you, I came to this country with a dream - to work hard, contribute, and give back to a nation that gave my family and I so much. Today, you officially become part of the American story," said Diego Morales, Indiana Secretary of State.

Secretary Morales reflected on his own journey, noting that both he and his wife became U.S. citizens after immigrating to the United States. As Indiana's Chief Election Officer, he encouraged the new citizens to take full advantage of the rights and responsibilities that come with citizenship - especially the right to vote.

Following the ceremony, a table was set up outside the Secretary of State's Office to provide newly naturalized citizens with the opportunity to register to vote and learn more about how the office serves Hoosiers across the state.

"Your journey has only just begun. I have no doubt that you will continue to make a positive impact on this great nation. Welcome to the most exceptional country, the United States of America - and thank you for choosing the Hoosier State," said Diego Morales, Indiana Secretary of State.
