WASHINGTON, District of Columbia, October 22, 2026 - The Board of Directors for the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) has appointed Chris Schindler to serve as the chairman of the organization for a one-year term. Mr. Schindler is Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary & Chief Compliance Officer of Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline. Southern Star is a leading transporter of natural gas to America's heartland, with approximately 5,800 miles of natural gas transmission pipeline in the Midwest and Mid-Continent regions of the United States.
"Chris brings extensive industry experience to the chair role, and I look forward to working with him to lead INGAA's efforts to advocate for commonsense regulatory and policy solutions that support our industry and ensure Americans continue to have access to reliable, affordable energy," said Amy Andryszak, President and CEO of INGAA. "His deep understanding of the natural gas pipeline industry's regulatory framework and experience working with FERC will help further INGAA's mission to advance federal policies, laws, and regulations that support safe, reliable interstate natural gas transportation and storage infrastructure."
Mr. Schindler joined Southern Star in June 2019 following a 25-year legal career at Hogan Lovells, now Hogan Lovells Cadwalader, in Washington, D.C. There he handled complex regulatory matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and state commissions; executed regulatory strategies for energy infrastructure projects; litigated FERC rate cases; and was also a frequent national speaker on FERC and CFTC regulatory issues.
"It is an honor to serve as chair of the INGAA Board of Directors at such a pivotal moment for our industry," said Mr. Schindler. "As energy demand continues to grow, industry leaders must work together to advance sound policies and regulations that enable us to meet the moment. Natural gas is the backbone of the U.S. energy system, and a strong policy environment that allows for continued investment in infrastructure is essential to meeting demand and maintaining a resilient, reliable system."
Mr. Schindler received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and his Master of Arts in 1991 and Juris Doctor with Honors in 1994 from George Washington University.
INGAA also appointed Rob Johnson, president of WBI Energy, Inc., as first vice chair, and David Brast, President of U.S. Natural Gas Pipelines, TC Energy, as second vice chair.
