Cedar Falls Public Safety is proud to once again partner with the Target Distribution Center to host 'Safety City,' an annual educational event for area kindergarten students. The program will be held in the parking lot at the Target Distribution Center from September 9 through September 12.
Close to 500 kindergarteners from the Cedar Falls Community School District, St. Patrick's Catholic School, Valley Lutheran School, and Cedar Ridge Christian will be in attendance to learn about fire safety, calling 911, first aid, bicycle safety, stranger danger, electrical safety, and railroad safety.
Cedar Falls Public Safety partners with the Target Corporation, Black Hawk County Consolidated Dispatch, MercyOne, Cedar Falls Utilities, INERCOG Safe Routes to School, and Iowa Northern Railway Company to bring this public educational event to the community.
Cedar Falls has hosted the Safety City program since 1968, apart from 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
