On May 3, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov visited the city of Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
As part of the visit, a series of meetings were held, including a meeting with Yasser Ibrahim Al-Obaida, CEO of Sudair Pharma.
During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, as well as issues of localization of production. The company was invited to explore the opportunities of Uzbekistan's market and to participate in the upcoming 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum.
Foreign Minister also met with Fahad bin Abduljalil Al-Saif, Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
During the discussions, it was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia continues to develop steadily based on mutual trust and respect, and the growing scale of investment partnership was highlighted. The sides exchanged views on further expanding bilateral relations and invited Saudi partners to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum to be held in June this year.
A meeting was also held in Riyadh with Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud, Governor of Riyadh Province.
Appreciation was expressed for the warm hospitality extended to the delegation, noting that this reflects the traditions and generosity of the Kingdom. Readiness was expressed to further strengthen relations based on mutual trust and shared aspirations, as well as to expand cooperation in priority areas.
Bakhtiyor Saidov also met with Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Warm greetings and best wishes from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev were conveyed to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and to Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.
The sides exchanged views on key regional and international issues, particularly the situation in the Middle East and the importance of dialogue and diplomacy. It was noted that bilateral cooperation continues to expand steadily, reflecting the deepening of the partnership between the two countries. The sides agreed to continue close cooperation and strengthen their multifaceted partnership.
A meeting was also held with Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Uzbekistan's strong commitment to further strengthening cooperation with the Council was reaffirmed. The positive momentum of cooperation across various fields was noted, and issues related to preparations for upcoming joint events, as well as the promotion of practical initiatives in economic, investment, and connectivity areas, were discussed.The sides expressed readiness to further deepen cooperation and expand practical engagement.
