Mast moves to designate PBI as Trump International Airport

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Representative Brian Mast (FL-21)introduced legislation to rename "Palm Beach International Airport" (PBI) in West Palm Beach, Florida to "Donald J. Trump International Airport," with "DJT" as the new location identifier.

"President Donald J. Trump's impact on our nation will transcend our time-a historic legacy of dedication and commitment toward the American people. He's called Palm Beach County 'home' for many years, and this designation reflects our gratitude for his public service and leadership," said Rep. Brian Mast.

The bill formally redesignates PBI as "Donald J. Trump International Airport" once enacted, directing appropriate federal agencies and references to adhere to that new designation. Additionally, the bill specifically calls for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to coordinate with the relevant organizations involved with location identification, such as the International Air Transport Association (IATA), to update the airport's code to "DJT."

Palm Beach County's commercial airport serves as a crucial economic driver for the region, visited by millions of travelers each year. This proposal will reflect the region's close ties to the President and his longstanding presence in South Florida.

The bill will be considered by the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure before it can reach the House floor for a vote.
