City of Norman Receives National Recognition for Excellence in Financial Reporting

The City of Norman has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. The award recognizes governments that demonstrate excellence in financial reporting and transparency.

The City's report was reviewed by an impartial panel and judged to meet the high standards of the GFOA's program. These standards include demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate the City's financial story and encourage residents and other users of the report to engage with the information.

"Receiving the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is a reflection of our team's commitment to transparency, accountability and responsible financial management," said Finance Director Clint Mercer. "We take pride in providing accurate, comprehensive and accessible financial information to our community. This recognition highlights the dedication of our staff and our continued commitment to maintaining the highest standards in financial reporting."
