HANNIBAL - Beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, crews with the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project will close the right shoulder of eastbound I-70 at mile marker 193.2, near Warrenton, west of Missouri Route 47, for slide repair work to stabilize the existing roadway slope. The shoulder closure is scheduled to remain in place until the Spring of 2026.
Work will occur during daytime hours with no impacts to traffic, but periodic overnight lane reductions for material delivery will be necessary. All work is weather permitting.
This work is part of the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project covering the eastern portion of I-70. It was awarded in November 2024. Construction is set to continue through 2028.
Missouri's FY2024 budget, approved through the state legislative process and signed into law by the governor, provides $2.8 billion in General Revenue to build a third lane of I-70 across the state. The program will plan, design, construct, reconstruct, rehabilitate, and add a third lane in each direction on nearly 200 miles of I-70, from Blue Springs to Wentzville.
