Governor Hobbs Orders Flags to Half-Staff to Honor the Life and Legacy of Pope Francis

Governor Katie Hobbs has ordered U.S. and Arizona flags to fly at half-staff to honor the life and legacy of Pope Francis. This order is in conjunction with President Donald Trump's proclamation for flags to be lowered today through the day of interment.

Flags should immediately be lowered to half-staff and remain so through sunset on the day of interment, which is yet to be set.

Governor Hobbs made the following statement:

"I join Catholics across Arizona, and the world, in mourning the death of Pope Francis. He led the Church with humility and dignity, and was a voice for those who too often have none. We can all learn from his message of compassion and empathy for the least among us."

Individuals, businesses and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.
