The City of Lewisville is proud to announce Gretchen Wilson and Shane Smith and the Saints as the headliners for the annual Western Days festival to be held September 26-27 in Old Town Lewisville.
Gretchen Wilson will be the featured act on Friday night, taking the Republic Services Main Stage at 10 p.m.
Wilson took the country music world by storm in 2005 and her meteoric rise, the kind experienced by only a handful of artists, was that rare instance where talent and moment met to form a cultural tidal wave. During her career, she has sold more than 10 million albums, earned 11 major awards, and has had 10 Top 10 hits.
The Grammy Award-winning singer's ability to tailor songs as gorgeously rough-edged as she is, has given her the kind of "I am what I sing" originality few women in music history-Loretta, Janis, Dolly and Cher-have ever been able to achieve.
More recently, Wilson won FOX's top-rated show "The Masked Singer," and has been named the "tour manager" for the highly anticipated weekly CBS show THE ROAD, executive produced by Taylor Sheridan and Blake Shelton and starring Keith Urban. The show begins airing in September.
Saturday's headliner will be Shane Smith and the Saints, closing out the weekend festival at 10 p.m. on the Republic Services Main Stage.
This is a full-circle moment for Shane Smith and the Saints, as they first performed at Lewisville Western Days back in 2014.
They'll be in Lewisville touring in support of their fourth studio album Norther. The album captures Shane Smith and the Saints at their most colorful, offering up a hard-hitting version of American roots music that's influenced by country, folk, and roadhouse rock & roll. It's a sound that's been shaped by the road, where the Saints spent the past decade on tour. Norther is the soundtrack to that discovery. It's the sound of a band pushing its limits, broadening its reach, and expanding its audience.
Lewisville Western Days is a family-friendly event that will feature live entertainment on six stages, an expanded Western Village sponsored by Frost Bank, Indigenous ACE Dance Troupe, Kid Kountry Playground, the MLE-sanctioned Padrino Foods World Tamale Eating Championship, and many more exciting activities.
Gates will open at 4 p.m. Friday and Noon on Saturday.
