Pianos on State is an interactive public art and music experience that takes place every October in downtown Santa Barbara. Each piano, painted by local artists, becomes an interactive work of art placed in public spaces for the community to play, listen, and enjoy. The public is invited to experience the installation from September 30 through October 19.
As a public art program, Pianos on State provides an opportunity for both emerging and professional artists to showcase their work through a unique project.
