Celebrate the outdoors at Everyone Belongs Nature Festival June 20 at William W. Powers State Recreation Area in Chicago

SPRINGFIELD - Families are invited to enjoy free fishing, flag football, archery, canoeing, yoga, music, food, educational exhibits, wildlife demonstrations and more at the third annual Everyone Belongs Nature Festival on Saturday, June 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at William W. Powers State Recreation Area on Chicago's Southeast Side.

The free event celebrates that nature is for everyone and offers opportunities for visitors to connect with the outdoors through recreation, education, wellness activities, and community engagement.

The festival is the result of a broad partnership among IDNR, community organizations, labor organizations, conservation groups, educational institutions, and local leaders committed to expanding outdoor access and conservation education.

More than 20 exhibitors and numerous sponsors will participate, providing visitors with information on recreation opportunities, environmental stewardship, wildlife conservation, and public resources available throughout Illinois.


Go online to register for the event. The first 300 attendees will receive a complimentary IDNR outdoor camping bag while supplies last.
