Origin Bank Adds Scott Haygood and Merritt Grimm to East Texas Commercial Banking Team

Origin Bank has announced the hiring of Scott Haygood as Commercial Relationship Manager, Regional Executive Vice President, and Merritt Grimm as Commercial Relationship Banker, Senior Vice President, serving the East Texas region.

Haygood brings more than 20 years of banking experience to Origin, beginning his career in East Texas as a credit analyst before advancing through loan review and compliance into commercial lending. He has served as a commercial lender, senior lender, and most recently market president. In his new role, Haygood will work closely with clients to understand their financial needs, provide customized financial solutions, help clients achieve their long-term goals, and support businesses throughout the community.

Haygood earned a Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Tyler. He is active in the community as treasurer for the Longview Christian School Board and through HighRidge Church. Haygood and his wife, Ami, have four sons.

Grimm has more than 13 years of experience working with East Texas commercial banking customers across a broad range of industries. In his new role, Grimm will focus on supporting business clients throughout the region, providing customized lending, treasury management and deposit solutions to help businesses achieve their goals.

Grimm holds degrees from Texas A&M University, completing his undergraduate studies in the Professional Program in Accounting, followed by earning his graduate degree in Finance. He is a Certified Public Accountant, as well as a graduate of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking. Grimm is active in the community through the Aspire Mentoring Program, Christian Heritage Classical School's Sentinel Supporters Board and Mobberly Baptist Church. He and his wife, Brittany, have one daughter, Ella.
