Cargill recognized for its work accelerating the shift toward a circular bioeconomy

WAYZATA, MN, October 8, 2025 - Cargill has been included in Fortune's 11th annual Change the World list. This list highlights 50 global companies who have created significant social or environmental impact business results, and innovation. Cargill was included for its work advancing circular and bioeconomy solutions to reduce waste, decarbonize supply chains and deliver more sustainable solutions across food, feed, fuel, bio-based products and energy.

As the world faces mounting pressures from climate change, a need for improved food security, and resource scarcity, scalable, innovative and sustainable solutions have never been more urgent. Cargill is rising to this challenge by accelerating the shift toward a circular bioeconomy-one that turns waste into value, connects across the supply chain and turns renewable resources into new growth engines.

The company is already demonstrating impact:

• 130,000 tons of surplus food upcycled to animal feed.
• The biodiesel plant in Ghent, Belgium has reduced greenhouse gas emissions compared to fossil fuel by 874,000 metric tons by converting waste oils and residues into renewable fuel - which is equivalent to removing 400,000 cars from the road for one year.
• Cargill Bioenergia, located in Brazil, generates more than 800 Gwh/year of bio-based energy, part of which is delivered to the national grid.
• Researching the commercial potential of winter camelina - an oilseed with the potential to support renewable fuel production and new revenue for farmers without displacing food production - across 7,000 acres with 60 farmers.

• Business results: considering the benefit the socially impactful work brings to the company.
• Degree of innovation: considering how innovative the company's effort is relative to that of others in its industry and whether other companies have followed its example or partnered with it.
