Motor Fuel Prices – February 2026

Today, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) released monthly motor fuels prices for February 2026.

In February 2026, the average price for regular motor gasoline was $2.91 per gallon; up 3.5% from January 2026 and down 6.8% from February 2025.

By region, the average price for regular motor gasoline in February 2026 was and year-over-year change:

• West Coast: $3.98 (down 2.5%)
• Central Atlantic: $2.96 (down 6.6%)
• New England: $2.84 (down 5.4%)
• Lower Atlantic: $2.75 (down 6.8%)
• Midwest: $2.67 (down 9.5%)
• Rocky Mountain: $2.66 (down 11.7%)
• Gulf Coast: $2.48 (down 8.4%)

The average price for diesel no. 2 was $3.72 in February 2026, up 5.6% from January 2026, and up 1.3% from February 2025.
