The President of the Republic received the Head of the European Union Delegation

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vassilis Maragos.

President Khachaturyan welcomed the Head of the EU Delegation and emphasized that Armenia-EU relations have been developing dynamically in recent years, encompassing new formats and areas of cooperation.

Vassilis Maragos expressed his gratitude for the reception and reaffirmed his commitment to continue efforts aimed at strengthening and expanding the EU-Armenia partnership.

During the meeting, the sides discussed various sectoral programs and initiatives implemented with EU support. They exchanged views on the potential and opportunities for cooperation in fields such as energy, education, economic development, and several other areas.

Vassilis Maragos also presented positive developments in the visa liberalization process and underlined the importance of consistent bilateral efforts in this direction.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on the progress of the new EU-Armenia "Partnership Agenda."

The Head of the EU Delegation presented the program of upcoming events dedicated to Europe Day, highlighting their inclusive nature and importance in raising awareness and fostering engagement among Armenian citizens in EU-Armenia relations.

Special attention during the meeting was given to reforms aimed at strengthening democratic institutions, as well as humanitarian and social support programs implemented with EU assistance.

Both sides emphasized the importance of further deepening Armenia-EU cooperation and the need for joint implementation of new initiatives.
