Hayward Airport Open House returns Sunday, Sept. 21

The Hayward Executive Airport will host its annual Open House on Sunday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free event will feature food and drink vendors and showcase static aircraft displays, classic cars and equipment used by Hayward's Police and Fire departments.
Free parking is available on the street and in the nearby Home Depot and La Quinta Inn lots off Skywest Drive. Accessible parking spaces are located at the Airport Administration Office, 20301 Skywest Drive.

The Hayward Executive Airport, located near the intersection of Hesperian Boulevard and W. A Street, was originally a World War II fighter aircraft base before becoming a general aviation airport. Today, the airport's 534-acre property hosts more than 350 aircraft, ranging from single-engine planes to corporate jets. 21 aviation-support businesses also call the airport home.
