NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Subject to AS 38.05.020, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT)
PROJECT NAME: ADL 421376
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: 2301 Peger Road, Fairbanks, Alaska
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Tracts I-1 and J-1 of ASLS 87-17, within Section 16, Township 1 South, Range 1 West, Fairbanks Meridian
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW), Northern Regional Land Office (NRO) is considering conversion of an existing DOT lease site (ADL 39183) to an Interagency Land Management Assignment, as well as add the parcel to the south identified as Tract J-1 in ASLS 87-17, which is currently used as additional parking and storage space. The assignment would allow DOT to have management authority over their Northern Region Complex, which houses office buildings as well as their entire fleet maintenance facility.
REQUESTED TERM: Until no longer needed for the specified purpose
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: October 28, 2024
The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
