Donations Needed for Rocket Thrift Shop Event on Nov. 5

The Division of Student Affairs is hosting "Rocket Thrift Shop," an event for students to "shop" for free gently used clothing, shoes, housewares and more. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Thompson Student Union Ingman Room.

We are accepting donations of new or gently used clothing (clean and free of stains and rips), housewares, shoes, books, children's items, hangers, reusable bags and more.

Please refrain from donating under garments, bathing suits, furniture, electronics and tools.

Donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

• Collier Building Main Lobby on Health Science Campus

• Mulford Library First Floor (Student Service Center) on Health Science Campus

• Rocket Hall Room 1300 (University College)

• Snyder Memorial Room 1000 (Center of International Studies and Programs)

• Thompson Student Union Room 2518 (Center for Advocacy and Student Experience)

"I always get so excited for the Rocket Thrift Shop," said Zoe Bacorn, a sophomore in the Judith Herb College of Arts, Social Science and Education. "It is a game-changer for my closet and my wallet. As a student, it's where I can find all the essentials: from business casual clothes for mock interviews, to pots and pans for my late-night kitchen runs. Not only is it at no cost, but it's stocked by our own Toledo community. I love the feeling of giving away my old items and giving someone else's items a second chance at life."

For community convenience we will be offering two specific Drive Through Drop-Off days, where you can pull up and we will grab donations:

• Monday, Oct. 20, from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m., Area 11

• Friday, October 24th, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Area 11
