The Association of Health Care Journalists is proud to announce the selection of the 2025 fellows for the Uncovering Pathways to Better Health Fellowship. This initiative, supported by the Doris Duke Foundation, empowers journalists to explore and report on innovative research and models in prevention and care delivery that have the potential to transform public health outcomes in the U.S.

The fellowship provides each journalist with a $5,000 stipend, registration and travel support for Health Journalism 2025 in Los Angeles (May 29-June 1), access to up to two health symposia, participation in exclusive AHCJ workshops focused on medical research and the opportunity to contribute to the planning of the 2025 AHCJ Fall Summit. These resources aim to enhance the fellows' ability to identify and report on research that supports health innovation for improving prevention and care delivery efforts.

The 2025 Uncovering Pathways to Better Health Fellows are:

  • Andrea Collier, independent journalist
  • Hoda Emam, independent journalist
  • Jessie Hellmann, CQ Roll Call
