Dentons advised Alliant Energy Corporation in the negotiation and closing of two federal loans totaling $5.1 billion through the US Department of Energy's Energy Dominance Financing program.
Over more than a year, a cross-practice Dentons team helped Alliant navigate a complex federal financing process amid changing DOE policies and priorities. Dentons negotiated loan documents with counsel for the Department of Energy and Federal Financing Bank, advised on regulatory compliance and due diligence, and helped structure the financing to work with Alliant's existing debt facilities. The financing provides Alliant access to low-cost, long-term capital for a range of energy production and enhancement projects.
The Dentons team was led by energy partner Clinton Vince with support from government contracts partner Phillip Seckman, corporate partners Karen Jordan and Brian Lee, real estate partner Thomas Vandiver, corporate managing associate Joel Aschbrenner and government contracts associate Sanam Analouei.
