In October 2026, Main Street sponsored the ArBOOretum event at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center. The Arboretum is a 155-acre non-profit nature sanctuary of woodland, meadow, savanna, and wetland habitats. It plays a vital role in protecting native plants and animals in the heart of the city, where development threatens their survival. One of the first nature education facilities for children in Texas, the Arboretum welcomes more than 400,000 visitors and provides nature education to more than 10,000 children each year.
The ArBOOretum is the Arboretum's biggest event of the year, featuring fall activities for all ages, including live animals, pumpkin decorating, and Houston's only Trick-or-Treat Nature Trail. Funds raised support the Arboretum's mission of nature education and conservation, and the growing number of visitors who walk its peaceful trails, take part in educational programs, and connect with the natural world.
Main Street contributed $5,000 in support of the event, and employees and their families joined in the festivities. As one of Main Street's five charity partners, Child Advocates was also included in the celebration, with Main Street providing $500 in tickets for children and families served by the organization. This provided an opportunity for these families to enjoy the event and experience a fun-filled day outdoors.
