NEW YORK - Today, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund announced its latest round of endorsements of Moms Demand Action volunteers running for office across the country. The 66 volunteers endorsed today are running for offices ranging from the U.S. House and statewide office to state legislatures, county commissions, school boards, and more across nineteen states. In the 2026 primaries thus far, more than 85% of Moms Demand Action volunteers have won their races.

"Moms Demand Action volunteers-turned-candidates are exactly what so many voters are looking for: Proven leaders with a track record of fighting to keep their communities safe," said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. "Every election, the number of Moms Demand Action volunteers running for office and winning grows larger as we flip legislative chambers, build a bench of future national leaders, and turn a grassroots movement into a governing majority."

"Across nineteen states and every level of government, there is a common thread: candidates who built their political instincts not on the campaign trail but in their communities, fighting for gun safety long before they ever filed to run," said Angela Ferrell-Zabala, executive director of Moms Demand Action. "This movement has spent more than a decade creating the conditions for a moment like this, and we are proud to stand with every one of these 66 candidates."

In 2021, Everytown Victory Fund launched the Demand a Seat educational program to train grassroots volunteers and gun violence survivors to take the next step in their advocacy efforts by running for office and working on campaigns. Since then, the program has trained more than 1,500 volunteers across 47 states and Washington, D.C. During the 2025 election cycle, 163 former Moms Demand Action volunteers were up for election, and 67% won in 23 states. They join the ranks of the more than 600 volunteers from 42 states who have run and won since the Demand a Seat program was launched. All told, 15 states now have five or more former volunteers serving in the legislature.
