WASHINGTON, DC - A new report from the U.S. Congress's Joint Economic Committee (JEC) reveals that Nevada families are spending at least $4,400 more on average for goods and services because of Donald Trump's economic policies. This includes the average Nevada family paying an additional $550 for housing, $310 for groceries, $826 for gas, and more than $1,000 for health care.
"It's been nearly two years since Donald Trump was elected, and Nevadans are already paying the price of his cost-raising policies - an average of at least $4,400 more per family. From his tariffs to his war in Iran, Nevada families are being squeezed by the rising costs of gas, housing, groceries, and health care," said Senator Rosen. "Nevadans should not keep footing the bill for Trump's reckless leadership. That's why I'll keep fighting to lower costs and ensure that every Nevadan can afford to pay for their basic necessities."
Senator Rosen has been working to bring down prices for Nevada families and has pushed back on the Trump Administration's cost-raising policies. Senator Rosen recently joined Senate colleagues in demanding that the Trump Administration release funding to programs that lower heating and cooling costs for lower-income families. She also helped introduce a bill that would repeal tariffs on Canada, which have negatively impacted Nevada's economy. Earlier this year, she introduced bills to exclude homebuilding materials and groceries from Trump's tariffs, which would help lower costs for families.
