Fashion Show Celebrated Strength, Resilience and Life Beyond Treatment
Event Emceed by Actor and Singer Mauricio Martinez
BROOKLYN, NY (October 28, 2026) - Maimonides Health hosted its 15th annual Pink Runway fashion show on Tuesday, October 27, at the Brooklyn Museum, where breast cancer survivors walked the runway in a celebration of strength, resilience and life beyond treatment.
Held during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Pink Runway brought breast cancer survivors, families, clinical staff and community members together for an evening of fashion and music. Actor and singer Mauricio Martinez served as master of ceremonies, while Mazel Tov Cocktails, a band of Maimonides physicians led by breast cancer surgeon Patrick Borgen, MD, provided live entertainment.
"It's always a joy to witness Pink Runway, where we celebrate the incredible survivors, their resilience, and their journeys through treatment and beyond," said Ken Gibbs, President and CEO, Maimonides Health . "In line with Maimonides' philosophy to treat the whole patient and not just their disease, this event reminds us all of the importance of the work our cancer care teams carry out each day for patients and families, and why the Breast Center's commitment to excellence makes our community a better place."
This year's celebration comes just months after Maimonides Health launched its Breast Cancer Survivorship Program in July 2026. The program serves women who are generally five or more years beyond active treatment, offering specialized care that bridges oncology and primary care while recognizing the unique long-term health needs of survivors.
"For the past 15 years, our annual Pink Runway has been a great source of joy and pride for our survivors, families, and entire team at the Breast Center. It's a night of music, tears, laughter, and dancing, an opportunity to cheer on our incredibly special survivors as they walk down the Pink Runway," said Dr. Borgen, who was named a 2026 OncLiveGiant of Cancer Care . "It's a reminder of the impact of centering our community in their health care. There were no cancer services in Brooklyn when we established our center 20 years ago. Maimonides saw that need and fulfilled it, in the name of providing Brooklynites with the world-class cancer care this community deserves."
Pink Runway presented its Wings of Healing Award to Rachel Lousteau, Co-Chair of the Pink Runway Committee. Dr. Borgen, Chair of the Department of Surgery, Maimonides, Director of the Maimonides Breast Cancer Program, and Honorary Chair of this year's Pink Runway, received the Breast Cancer Champion Award. Under his leadership, Maimonides Breast Center became Brooklyn's first fully accredited, full-service breast center, bringing screening, diagnosis, treatment, counseling and support services together under one roof for the thousands of women who rely on the center each year.
This year's Pink Runway raised $750,000 for Maimonides Breast Center. The proceeds will support advanced breast imaging technology and expand the center's capacity to provide timely, specialized care to patients across Brooklyn.
Pink Runway reflects Maimonides Health's continued commitment to advancing women's health, celebrating survivorshipand expanding access to high-quality breast cancer care for Brooklyn residents, regardless of background or insurance status.
