A free residential clean-up and recycling day is available to all Simi Valley residents. It will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center located at 2801 N. Madera Road. This free landfill day is a great resource to dispose of unwanted items and helps to prevent illegal dumping.
Simi Valley residents must provide proof of residency, such as a driver's license or waste and recycling bill with a Simi Valley address. A household may dispose of up to two loads. A maximum of five non-commercial passenger vehicle tires or pickup tires may be dropped off.
Participants are asked to separate recyclables from refuse to facilitate recycling. Loads must be covered during transport to prevent litter. No commercial waste, commercial vehicles, hazardous waste, electronics, liquids, household batteries, products containing mercury (such as thermometers and thermostats), or fluorescent light bulbs are allowed.
Household hazardous waste materials are not accepted at this event. In addition to the Residential Cleanup and Recycling Day, free Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection events are held on the third Saturday of every other month and are available by appointment only to residents of Simi Valley and Moorpark. To schedule an appointment for the next HHW event on Saturday, May 16, 2026, complete and submit the request form at www.simivalley.org/hhwappointments.
