Kaleida Health Launches Comprehensive Cancer Care Brand

Today, Kaleida Health is proud to announce the launch of its newly-branded Kaleida Health Cancer Care service line - a comprehensive, integrated care program designed to bring world-class oncology services to patients throughout Western New York and Northern Pennsylvania.

While the new brand highlights a more recognizable identity and care coordination enhancements, patients can expect the same great care that is already happening across our care continuum. As the second-largest local cancer care provider, patients will continue to have access to a full continuum of oncology care, from preventative screenings to testing, treatment (including surgery), emergency and critical care, if needed, and survivorship support.

Care coordination with Kaleida Health, General Physician, PC (the largest cancer care practice in Western New York), Cancer Care of Western New York, Western New York Urology and the Visiting Nursing Association of WNY will continue, with care provided at more than 20 locations across Western New York, the Southern Tier and northern Pennsylvania. Many of our cancer care doctors are also affiliated with UBMD, providing access to the latest research and clinical trials for patients. In addition, Kaleida Health Cancer Care provides full patient navigation and survivorship support through our affiliate, Great Lakes Integrated Network IPA (GLIN IPA).

"By working as a comprehensive, integrated team, we put the best medical minds together to create an individualized treatment plan for each patient to ensure the best possible outcome," said Roberto Pili, MD, physician leader on the oncology service line and a specialist in genitourinary cancer and nutritional treatment of cancer patients. "With the largest health system in the region supporting patients, patients benefit from a full continuum of healthcare services they may need throughout their cancer journeys - from diagnosis and screening to treatment to survivorship. Patients will also benefit from access to additional care unrelated to their cancer if and when needed, including emergency care and specialist care for co-morbidities."

Highlights of Kaleida Health Cancer Care:

  • Multiple community-based locations: Through collaboration across facilities and care teams, we're minimizing the obstacles and alleviating the frustrations that patients have experienced for too long
  • Comprehensive treatment: From imaging and chemotherapy to surgery and radiation, we're bringing patients the broadest set of resources for the highest quality of care-and the highest quality of life
  • Collaborative team: Utilizing the best experts, resources and services from top medical leaders in the region, we're working together to make cancer's impact on patients' lives as small as possible
  • Compassionate care: Understanding each patient's unique situation as if it were our own is the first step to providing patients with the most positive outcomes, comfortably and conveniently

"Every patient is unique and every cancer journey is different," said Stephanie Guchone, vice president of imaging and oncology services for Kaleida Health. "There are more than 100 types of cancer, and Kaleida Health offers the most advanced treatment options for some of the most commonly-diagnosed types of cancer in Western New York. Our experienced physicians, oncologists and specialists share the same goal - providing expert, compassionate care through your treatment and beyond."
