Gun Owners of California, Gun Owners of America, and Gun Owners Foundation Mourn the loss of Conservative Leader Charlie Kirk; Condemns Political Violence

Washington, D.C.- Gun Owners of America (GOA), Gun Owners Foundation (GOF), and Gun Owners of California (GOC) are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Turning Point USA's Founder Charlie Kirk. Our prayers are with his family and all those who are affected during this difficult time.

Charlie Kirk has been a leading voice for educating college students and young adults about their constitutionally-protected rights that we hold dear.

Gun Owners of America's sister organization, Gun Owners Foundation, through its 2A Defenders program, has long supported Turning Point USA (TPUSA) and Charlie Kirk's work on college campuses. The movement for freedom lost a warrior today and his loss will be felt.

Erich Pratt, Senior Vice President of Gun Owners of America, issued the following statement:

"Charlie Kirk founded TPUSA to inspire a generation of young leaders to fight for constitutional principles. His vision has empowered youth nationwide, and we have been honored to support that mission. The violence towards Charlie and other conservative political figures is evil and uncalled for. Now, more than ever, our right to defend ourselves against those who would do us harm must be protected."

Nico Gonzalez, Co-Chair of GOF's 2A Defenders, issued the following statement:

"Charlie Kirk consistently gave a master's class in fighting against one of the largest echo chambers -our universities. His vision for the future in many ways revolutionized the way that an entire generation views politics. Today's violence is unacceptable and as a country we must call for people of all political parties to do better and condemn these atrocious acts."
