Elementary and middle school students interested in science, nature and hands-on discovery can dive into the exciting world of biology this summer at BIO Camp at Oakland University.
Designed for students in grades 4-8, BIO Camp gives participants the opportunity to experience a day in the life of a biologist through engaging lab experiments, field research and interactive learning experiences across Oakland University's campus.
Campers will explore a variety of biological science topics, including genetics, microbiology, ecology and environmental biology, while participating in projects that incorporate STEAM education - integrating science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
Throughout the week, students will conduct hands-on lab and field research projects, collaborate with peers through team-building activities, and engage in project-based learning designed to inspire curiosity and scientific thinking.
Participants will also have the opportunity to explore several unique areas of Oakland University's campus, including research laboratories, the OU Biological Preserve and the Campus Student Organic Farm.
BIO Camp will be offered during two sessions in July 2026:
• July 20-24
• July 27-31
Camp runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The camp fee is $400.
