RFK Demolition Updates - May 2026 Update

Events DC's general contractor, Smoot Construction of Washington, DC, has completed the structural demolition of RFK Stadium. Removal of the remaining concrete foundation walls and columns is ongoing. The demolished concrete is being processed, crushed and reused as graded backfill on-site. To date, approximately 95% of demolition waste has been diverted from the landfill and recycled. The project remains on schedule with completion and closeout anticipated by October 2026.
