Dubai-Dentons' Middle East Banking & Finance practice has appointed Katharina Schaub as a Counsel specialising in restructuring and insolvency.
Katharina joined the firm's Dubai office on 16 February 2026.
Katharina is an experienced, German-qualified restructuring and insolvency lawyer, with significant previous restructuring experience in Germany, Australia, the UK and the UAE.
She joins Dentons from UAE-headquartered private healthcare group NMC Healthcare, where she was an integral senior member of the legal team.
Katharina has first-hand experience advising on the pressures and challenges corporates in financial distress face, including managing their day-to-day business as well as preparing and implementing their restructuring plans.
She joins Dentons in Dubai to enhance the firm's offering to clients in respect of restructuring and insolvency mandates and provide complementary restructuring and insolvency expertise to its increasingly broad Banking & Finance and Commercial Disputes practices.
Her appointment is the latest in a line of senior hires for Dentons' Middle East Banking & Finance practice, following the appointment of Partner Ahmed Butt in Dubai in January 2025; the relocation of Debt Capital Markets Partner Victoria Wyer who joined the Dubai office from London in September 2025; the appointment of Partner Ali Moiz Ansari in Riyadh in October 2025; the appointment of Capital Markets Partner Peter Cullen in Dubai in January 2026; and the appointment of Counsel Justine Harding in Muscat in January this year.
