Winnipeg, MB - At 1:46 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a one-and-a-half storey house in the 800 block of Redwood Avenue.
When crews arrived at the scene, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the house, with fire extending to two adjacent garages and a neighbouring residence.
Due to the advanced fire conditions, crews launched a defensive fire attack, applying water from the exterior of the structures. Once conditions improved, firefighters entered both houses to fully extinguish the fire. The fire was declared under control at 2:37 a.m.
All occupants from the affected homes evacuated before crews arrived. Paramedics assessed four people at the scene. None of them required transport to hospital. No other injuries were reported.
The City of Winnipeg's Emergency Social Services team attended the scene to provide temporary assistance to displaced residents.
The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
