Registration to Open for Spring/Summer Parks & Recreation Programs

Registration for Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation spring and summer programs opens Monday, March 2 at 8:00 a.m. The new Play CR Spring/Summer guide will be available online at that time and features hundreds of recreation opportunities for residents of all ages, running from April through August.

Play CR highlights a wide range of programs across the community, including youth and adult sports, swimming lessons, fitness and wellness classes, outdoor recreation, golf programs, camps, and nature-based experiences. Programs take place at locations throughout the city, including neighborhood parks, recreation facilities, golf courses, Old MacDonald's Farm, and Ushers Ferry Historic Village.

Seasonal offerings also include aquatics programming and summer pool access. Season pool passes provide admission to water exercise classes and age-appropriate open, lap, family, and adult swim times. Early purchase options and additional details will be available online.

Beginning Monday, registration will be available online at CRRec.org, by phone at 319-286-5566, or in person at the Northwest Recreation Center, 1340 11th Street NW, or the Parks & Recreation office at the City Services Center, 500 15th Avenue SW. Many programs fill quickly; early registration is encouraged.

Income-based financial assistance is available through the RecAssist program, which provides discounted swim passes and eligible recreation programs for qualifying individuals and families. Learn more and apply at CityofCR.com/RecAssist.
