Tuscaloosa Water Launches Lake Tuscaloosa Photo Contest

In recognition of Drinking Water Week, May 3-9, Tuscaloosa Water is inviting residents to celebrate one of the community's most important natural resources through the Lake Tuscaloosa Photo Contest.
The contest highlights Lake Tuscaloosa as the primary source of drinking water for the City and recognizes the critical role Tuscaloosa Water plays in delivering clean, safe and reliable water to the community. Tuscaloosa Water is proud to provide 8.06 billion gallons of clean, safe drinking water with zero detected "forever chemicals" (PFAS), each year to more than 62,000 residential and commercial entities across the Tuscaloosa community.
"Lake Tuscaloosa isn't just a beautiful place to visit-it is the foundation of our community's water supply," said Kimberly Michael, Executive Director of Water & Sewer. "This contest is a chance for you to celebrate that resource and learn more about how your water gets to you every day. From award-winning treatment processes to ongoing system improvements, we're working hard to make sure your water is always safe, clean and reliable."
Participants may enter the contest by posting an original photo of Lake Tuscaloosa to Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #TuscaloosaWater. The winning photo will be selected based on overall quality and creativity.
The contest will run from now until May 8th at 12 p.m. The winner will be announced on social media that night at 6 p.m. and will receive two ticket vouchers to a concert at the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater. Tickets may be picked up at the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater box office.
Drinking Water Week, led by the American Water Works Association, is a national observance that recognizes the importance of safe and reliable drinking water and the award-winning professionals who make it possible. Tuscaloosa Water remains committed to protecting public health through rigorous water quality standards, ongoing infrastructure investment and dependable service for the community.
