Sushi And Izakaya-Style Restaurant Hassun Chooses South Coast Collection In Costa Mesa For Inaugural Location

COSTA MESA, CA(April 6, 2026) - Traditional Japanese restaurant Hassun has selected South Coast Collection (SOCO) for its inaugural Orange County location, with plans to open within the 292,000 square foot luxury home furnishings and design center in Costa Mesa in early May. The sushi and izakaya-style restaurant, which will focus on the preparation of high-quality sushi and seasonal small plates, will occupy the former Shuck Oyster Bar space in the The OC Mix, the culinary and retail collective positioned within the center. According to owner Satomi Kawamura, "Hassun" refers to a classical course in Japanese kaiseki cuisine that expresses the season through an elegant assortment of delicacies from the mountains and the seas. The name reflects the restaurant's commitment to seasonality, balance, and the refined aesthetics of culinary tradition.
