Gibbons Road closure requires signal removal August 24 in Garden City
Garden City - Georgia DOT announces the removal of the SR 25/Coastal Highway T-intersection at Gibbons Road that leads to the Georgia Ports Authority Gate 1 on August 24. Georgia Ports has a permit to close Gibbons Road, rerouting truck traffic to the Brampton Road Connector/SR 26 Connector and terminal Gate 3.

On August 24, Gibbons Road will be permanently closed to traffic, making SR 25 traffic signals obsolete. A contractor for Georgia DOT will turn off the power to the signals and begin removal of all traffic control devices and overhead wires. All proper traffic control measures will be in place in the work zone for the safety of the traveling public and workers.

Motorists can expect some traffic delays in this area, so please allow extra time for your trips and stay informed by utilizing 511ga.org. This work may be delayed due to weather and other factors.

Advisory: Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
