ST. LOUIS (March 18, 2026) - As the temperature outside continues to ebb and flow, and Missourians adjust from heating to cooling season, Ameren Missouri is urging eligible customers to apply for energy assistance programs and review available payment options designed to provide flexibility and stability year-round.
To further support customers during this seasonal transition, Ameren Missouri is reminding customers the Dollar More program has over $1.5 million remaining. Dollar More provides eligible households with up to $600 per calendar year, and income eligibility recently increased to 300% of the federal poverty level (FPL). For example, a family of four with an income of $8250/month.
"We understand our customers are facing tough times. We are here to help," said Joe Solari, vice president of customer experience for Ameren. "For customers concerned about their energy bills, combining available programs with Federal LIHEAP dollars can provide the greatest level of assistance."
Ameren partners with local Community Action agencies to offer the Dollar More program to qualified customers. These agencies can also assist customers with applying for LIHEAP and Weatherization programs to maximize benefits. The deadline to apply for LIHEAP Energy Assistance is May 31.
In addition to Dollar More, Ameren Missouri offers several other options designed to give customers as much control as possible over what they pay:
