ICYMI: Rep. Ronny Jackson Reflects on the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 and Calls for Continued Action to Strengthen America’s National Security

WASHINGTON - Yesterday, Representative Ronny Jackson (TX-13) joined the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, at the Flight 93 National Memorial to approve the Committee's final review of the 9/11 Commission Report ahead of the 25th anniversary of September 11th.

During the field business meeting, Rep. Jackson delivered remarks honoring the first responders, families, and Americans who demonstrated extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy, while reflecting on the lasting national security reforms that followed the attacks. He also emphasized the need to continue strengthening America's Intelligence Community, improving coordination across all levels of government, and ensuring robust congressional oversight to protect the American people while safeguarding their constitutional liberties.

"Americans should never have to choose between being safe and being free," said Rep. Jackson. "Our national security policies must protect both. Twenty-five years later, the work of protecting the American people remains unfinished. The lessons we learned from that horrific day have been invaluable in shaping the progress we have made, but we cannot afford to become complacent. Our adversaries have evolved, the threats we face have changed, and our national security institutions must evolve with them. It is our responsibility in Congress to ensure the Intelligence Community has the tools, resources, and oversight necessary to confront these threats while safeguarding the freedoms that define our nation. We owe that responsibility to the Americans we lost on September 11th, to those who answered the call that day, and to every generation that will follow."
