Creativity will take center stage this spring at the 2026 Trashion Fashion Show, a unique Fort Worth tradition that turns everyday items into one-of-a-kind runway looks.

Hosted by Keep Fort Worth Beautiful, the Trashion Fashion Show contest invites designers of all ages to transform discarded materials - like plastic bags, cardboard, newspaper and bottle caps - into imaginative, wearable art. The result is a lively, high-energy showcase that blends fashion, art, reuse and community pride. The only rule: Designs must be made of at least 50% trash or recyclable materials.

New for 2026, the contest will feature two entry categories:

  • Youth: 17 years old and younger
  • Adult: 18 years old and older

Last year's contest showcased a wide variety of items refashioned by incredible talent. Winners included:

  • CD Nostalgia, by Sohannah, utilizing CDs and plastic trash bags.
  • Quince Upcycle, by Audie Pope, featuring a recycled hoop skirt, cardboard boxes and can tabs.
  • Midsommar Neight's Dream, by Natalie Jaecks, repurposed from old printouts, sheet music and VHS tapes.
  • Live, Laugh, Laundry, by Rayanna Hosokawa, made of used dryer sheets.

All contest participants are invited to debut their designs during the 2026 Cowtown Great American Cleanup's Earth Party, a free, family-friendly celebration featuring live entertainment, activities and community exhibits. Whether you're cheering on a designer, exploring the event or simply enjoying the creativity on display, the Trashion Fashion Show offers something unexpected for everyone.

Want to participate?

All contest entries must be received by Wednesday, March 25. Find more 2026 Trashion Fashion Show contest details and guidelines online.
