Cleco celebrates National Volunteer Month by volunteering with the Food Bank of Central Louisiana

Cleco employees volunteered at the Food Bank of Central Louisiana in recognition of National Volunteer Month and as part of the company's Done in a Day program.

Cleco's Done in a Day program furthers the company's partnerships with charitable organizations across its service territory, as well as provides an opportunity for its employees to get involved in the community. Through the program, Cleco works with charitable organizations who request assistance with a project that can be completed within one day or a few hours.

Volunteers assisted the Food Bank by packing bags of non-perishable goods and bagging fresh fruit for distribution.

"Working with the Food Bank is the perfect way to celebrate National Volunteer Month," said Colie Plaster, communications representative at Cleco and Done in a Day program coordinator. "Along with serving others, volunteer events are a great opportunity to get closer as a team and get connected with others in our community.

"Volunteers from Cleco bring incredible energy and heart to our mission," said Carole Stafford, volunteer coordinator at the Food Bank of Central Louisiana. "Their Done in a Day program is a powerful example of how local businesses can make a meaningful impact in just a few hours. By packing food bags, bagging produce and sorting donated food, Cleco employees help us better serve neighbors facing hunger across central Louisiana, and we are deeply grateful for their continued partnership and commitment to our community."
