Voter Information Available for May 19 General Primary & Nonpartisan General Election

Forsyth County voter information for the May 19 General Primary & Nonpartisan General Election is now available by visiting https://www.forysthco.com/vote.

In Georgia, voters do not register to vote with a party. Voters will select one of the following: a Nonpartisan ballot type, a Democratic ballot type or a Republican ballot type. What appears on each ballot type choice is as follows:

  • Nonpartisan ballot type: contains ONLY the 11 Nonpartisan General Election contests, which are for judges/judicial offices. The Nonpartisan ballot type contains NO party/partisan contests, candidates or questions.
  • Democratic ballot type: contains the names of candidates who qualified with the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party straw poll questions, AND includes the 11 Nonpartisan General Election contests, which are for judges/judicial offices. Each voter's ballot includes two federal contests, 10 statewide contests, two state level contests and county level contests in certain districts.
  • Republican ballot type: contains the names of candidates who qualified with the Republican Party, the Republican Party straw poll questions AND also includes the 11 Nonpartisan General Election contests which are for judges/judicial offices. Each voter's ballot includes two federal contests, 10 statewide contests, two state level contests, one countywide contest and county level contests in certain districts.

Advance Voting for the May 19 General Primary & Nonpartisan General Election will be available everyday Monday, April 27, through Friday, May 15, excluding Sunday, May 10, at locations throughout the county. Advance Voting locations are open to all Forsyth County registered voters. For dates, times and locations of Advance Voting, visit https://www.forsythco.com/vote.

Absentee ballot by mail applications will be accepted through Friday, May 8, for registered Forsyth County voters requesting to be issued a ballot by mail.

Election Day voting will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, at all 30 Forsyth County Election Day polling places. A few Election Day polling places have recently changed, and voters are encouraged to confirm their assigned Election Day polling place by visiting http://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov.
