Special City Council Meeting Scheduled For Tuesday, Sept. 30

City Council To Discuss Priorities And Swear In New Ward 2 Interim City Councilwoman

The Las Vegas City Council is scheduled to discuss future priorities for the city and swear in Ward 2 interim Councilwoman Kara Kelley at a special meeting scheduled for 9 a.m. in the Troesh Studio Theater in The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, 361 Symphony Park Ave.

Kelley was selected by the City Council at the Sept. 17, 2025 meeting to be an interim councilwoman until a new Ward 2 representative is selected by the voters in either the 2026 Primary or General elections.

Kelley is the former president and CEO of the Las Vegas Chamber and currently serves as the vice chair of the Colorado River Commission.

Following the swearing in the City Council will have a public meeting to discuss priorities for the city.

Public comment will be available for items on the agenda until 5 p.m. Sept. 29 at https://www.lasvegasnevada.gov/councilcomment. Those wishing to comment on items on the council agenda are invited to do so online, or to attend the meeting in person and participate in the public comment periods.
