Disability Services (DS) offices across the state continue to offer free virtual training sessions to UA staff and faculty on a range of essential topics. Each 'All Access' session will include ASL interpreters and live transcription services. Free training webinars will be offered on Jan. 27 and Feb. 25; a coffee chat will be held on Jan. 28.
Unless otherwise noted, all UA DS 'All Access' presentations will be recorded. DS encourages interested participants to register today to receive a post-session link to the recorded session.

Webinar: Creating Solutions: How to Handle Complex Accommodation Needs and Conversations
Date: Jan. 27, 2025, 1-2:30 p.m.
Presenters: Disability Support Staff from all three MAUs
Session Summary: Working with students who present challenges can be demanding, but that's often where the most meaningful progress happens. There are always resources, colleagues and strategies to lean on. In this informative and interactive webinar, Disability Services staff from all three MAUs will use real-world scenarios to provide faculty and staff with practical strategies and tools. This session will be 90 minutes, but the instructors will remain online for discussion and to answer questions as long as needed.

Coffee Chat
This informal conversation is open to all UA staff, faculty and administrators. Disability Services staff statewide will be available to answer questions, discuss ideas on how to support students, or other relevant topics. This will be an open conversation designed to support our campus community. This session will not be recorded.

Webinar: Making Your Campus More Inclusive: Strategies for Including Students with Intellectual Disability

Presenter: L. Danielle "Danie" Roberts-Dahm, Ph.D.
Session Summary: This webinar will be 90-minute presentation with a question and answer session following. Attendees will gain valuable information about how to can better include students with intellectual disabilities through their role on campus. Colleges and universities across the county have opened their doors to college students with intellectual disability by developing inclusive postsecondary education (IPSE) programs. These programs are highly valued on their campuses and have positive impacts on administrators and leadership, faculty and staff, and college peers with and without disabilities. Attendees will discover the transformative impact of including students with intellectual disabilities on college campuses through this virtual event, which includes time for questions.

Presenter Biography: Roberts-Dahm is the project coordinator of the Think College Inclusive Higher Education Network. She leads project implementation, including regional partnership development, training and technical assistance, and dissemination. Prior to Think College, Roberts-Dahm served in leadership roles at an inclusive postsecondary program and a state technical assistance center focused on the transition of students with disabilities in Florida. Roberts-Dahm's work has been focused on the development of inclusive college opportunities for students with disabilities.
