Puerto Rico Resident Commissioner Statement on the President’s Tariffs

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico, Pablo José Hernández Rivera, issued the following statement on the tariffs announced by the President:

"The President's tariffs will likely drive up the cost of basic goods, disrupt supply chains, and impact the economies of both the United States and Puerto Rico. However, we must seize the opportunities they may create for the relocation of industries to Puerto Rico."
