Megan Moroney had a few surprises planned when she made her headlining debut at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
Moroney, 28, welcomed thousands of fans to her elaborate "Cloud 9" world on Friday (August 21) and Saturday (August 22). Both performances were sold-out. Moroney kicked off her back-to-back performances with "Stupid," and went on to perform "Medicine," "Bless Your Heart," "I'm Not Pretty," "No Caller ID," "Who Hurt You?," "Wedding Dress," "Cloud 9," "Tennessee Orange," "Am I Okay?," "6 Months Later" and other career-spanning hits. The Georgia-born country star also marked a few full-circle moments with her surprise guests.
Some of the highlight moments and collaborations include surprise performances of "Noah" and "Hair Salon," an unreleased ballad with songwriter Jessi Alexander (she teased it on social media earlier this summer), her Ed Sheeran duet with JP Saxe, and performances with surprise guests Dan + Shay, Lady A and Kenny Chesney.
"I am so excited for my fans and I to dive into this new world of Cloud 9 together," Moroney said in a statement when she announced her highly-anticipated third studio record. "Similar to the first two albums [2023's Lucky and 2024's Am I Okay?], it's all written about honest, personal experiences, but these songs were written by the strongest, most confident version of myself I've ever been. My feet feel firmly planted in my artistry and it was fun to play around sonically, while still sticking to my roots of what my fans and I love. Cloud 9 is a state of mind, and I have no doubt this will be the best chapter yet."
