Update on Suspicious Death Investigation on South Main Street in Laconia, New Hampshire

Concord, NH - Attorney General John M. Formella, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall, and Laconia Police Chief Matthew Canfield announce further information related to the suspicious death of a male found deceased at 217 South Main Street Apt. 1 in Laconia, New Hampshire.

The deceased male was discovered by officers with the Laconia Police Department who arrived at the residence at 8:40am to conduct a welfare check at the address. The deceased male has been identified as the resident of 217 South Main Street, Apt. 1, Mr. John Anderson (age 62).

An autopsy has been scheduled to take place on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call the New Hampshire State Police tip line at 603-MCU-TIPS (603-628-8477). Detectives are also interested in hearing from anyone with information about Mr. Anderson's whereabouts and activities, and any activity at the residence, on or between April 12, 2026 and April 14, 2026.
