This past September, RSPO successfully launched the Lead Auditors course through its virtual Learning Management System (LMS). The training provides lead auditors with the opportunity to strengthen their skills and ensure more robust, reliable practices that are fully aligned with the highest sustainability standards.
In the first phase, participants can complete training modules specifically designed to evaluate independent smallholder groups. The program includes a virtual exam and in-person sessions led by RSPO-accredited trainers, ensuring that each lead auditor acquires the knowledge needed to earn accreditation and conduct ISH audits with excellence.
The course also allows lead auditors to plan their professional development and stay consistently up to date with best practices, while RSPO tracks their progress and accreditation management, promoting trustworthy auditing with strong social and economic impact.
This initiative not only focuses on individual capacity building but also on strengthening the entire smallholder community, increasing confidence in audit processes and the sustainability of agricultural practices.
The Independent Smallholder (ISH) Lead Auditor course is delivered through the RSPO Learning Management System (LMS), a virtual platform open to anyone interested. The LMS expands training reach through a "train-the-trainer" approach, with two main objectives: improving smallholder livelihoods and building a global network of Master Trainers to promote sustainable palm oil practices worldwide.
