Members of Armenia-Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia Friendship Group are in Estonia

On September 25-28, the members of Armenia-Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia Friendship Group Narek Babayan, Hripsime Hunanyan led by the Group Head Arsen Torosyan visited the capital of Estonia Tallinn.

On September 25, within the framework of the visit the Friendship Group met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Estonia Lauri Hussar. Issues on bilateral interaction, the EU-Armenia agenda, as well as the region were discussed.

On September 26, the delegation met with the Head of Estonia-Armenia Friendship Group Mati Raidma and other members of the Group in the Parliament of Estonia. At the meeting the Armenian-Estonian cooperation in different formats was especially emphasized. The invaluable role of the Estonian side in the relations between Armenia and European Union, and the readiness of Estonia showing support to Armenia was especially underscored. Reference was also made to the peace treaty to be signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the demarcation process of Armenia and Azerbaijan, the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations, as well as other regional issues.

On the same day, the delegates met with the Chairman of the European Union Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Estonia Peeter Tali and the Committee members. The Estonian colleague noted that in Estonia they observe with great attention the ongoing processes in Armenia. Speaking about the dynamics of the RA-EU relations, the visa liberalization dialogue already launched between Armenia and the European Union, as well as the other aspects of cooperation deepening with the EU were especially highlighted. The role of the EU Observation Mission was also underlined in ensuring border security and stability. The Crossroad of Peace project was presented to the Estonian colleagues.

On September 27, the members of Armenia-Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia Friendship Group met with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Estonia Marko Mihkelson. The RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Estonia Ara Margaryan also attended the meeting. The sides stressed the promising dynamics of deepening the Armenian-Estonian relations. The members of the delegation presented the recent developments of the RA-EU relations, particularly highlighting the launch of the visa liberalization dialogue. Ideas were exchanged on the security situation in the region.

On September 27, the delegation participated in the event organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Estonia on the occasion of Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia, where the diplomatic corps accredited in Estonia, as well as the representatives of the Armenian community were present there.
